Enrico Francesconi
Institute of Legal Informatics and Judicial Systems of the National Research Council of Italy (IGSG-CNR)
Enrico Francesconi has a PhD in Computer Science from University of Florence and currently
is a researcher at ITTIG-CNR. His research activity includes legal standards, legal drafting and AI techniques for document classification
and knowledge extraction. He participates in Italian and European working groups establishing
legal XML and URN standards.
graduated in Electronic Engineering, received the Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Computer Science Department (DSI) of the University of
Florence. In 2002 he joined the Institute of Legal Information Theory and Techniques
of the Italian National Research Council (ITTIG-CNR). His main research interests
include knowledge representation, legal standards, legal drafting, artificial intelligence
techniques for legal document classification and knowledge extraction. He is a member
of the Italian and European working groups establishing XML and URI standards for
legislation. He has been involved in various projects within the eParticipation framework
(DG Information Society & Media) of the European Commission and for the Office for
Official Publications of the European Communities.
