Global Center for Advanced Studies

is a faculty member of the Global Center for Advanced Studies (GCAS), a non-profit organization in the State of Michigan. She is an Italian philosopher of the metamorphosis of contemporary subjectivity. Following the completion of her Ph.D. dissertation on Deleuze and Hume about the connections between desire-law-institutions, she has served for the last two years as a researcher at Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht, Netherlands, the Dutch center for research in art, design and philosophy. While working in the Theory Department under the direction of the Slovenian theorist Mladen Dolar, she has participated in numerous international conferences both as selected and as invited speaker. She has written books and essays on modern and contemporary Western philosophy with a particular focus on the subjectivation processes in the neoliberal digital apparatuses which restructure the relation between nature and culture, desire and power. She is working out a theory on the subjectivity defining concepts as: 'digital governmentality', 'governamentalization of emotions' in digital media, 'digital shrift', 'psychic enclosure', 'informational matter', 'legal principle of subjectivation'.
